As a kid I was fascinated by snails and like a lot of kids probably did, I kept a heap of them in an ice-cream container as pets. After an evening downpour during my childhood, my mother would often go outside in her gumboots and, much to my horror, would squash all the snails who had come out of the garden to play in the wet. This painting portrays a couple of happy snails playing in the rain, luckily they never meet my mother! The original painting is Acrylic on Canvas
